Practice with a purpose.
Number Lab is a separate resource from WODB. Its 393 activities include place-value shifts, counting, composing and decomposing tens, equal groups, fractions, decimal operations, and comparisons. Activities offer a question, answer checking, hints, an explanation, and additional versions of the same idea.
Use the model to explain the idea.
A picture or a numeral is a starting point. Ask what one unit represents, how the quantities relate, and why the operation works. When available, “Show the model with my explanation” connects the explanation to the quantities used in that task. Some questions use a symbolic model or a number sentence; a model is not always the answer.
Levels and standards
Levels 1–5 correspond to Grades 1–5. Open Teacher & grown-up notes inside Number Lab to see the activity’s Wisconsin standard and objective tags, or filter by a standard. These are practice opportunities, not proof of mastery or a full curriculum.
